For sale: MGA Coupe (1957) - 265 UXM

£20,000ono

This car was built between 5th - 81 april 1957, despached on 10th April and was first registered on 15th April 1957 in Middlesex. It's original registration was 7 KME. This was removed around 2006 and replaced with it's current registration.

I purchased this car in December 2023 (Mileage then 96,255 miles). It has had a body restoration between 1989 and 1990 done by Murray Scott Nelson of Scarborough

In may 2008 it was fitted with a reconditioned MGB 1860 stage 2 engine and a

5 speed ford type 9 gearbox. The mileage at that time was 88,377. The front brakes were upgraded to discs from a later mga with mgb calipers, the suspension bushes were changed to polly bush and a front anti-roll bar was fitted by Surrey Sports and Classics.

The car has recently had the seats reupholstered by a previous owner.  The car is featured in the book "original MGA".

The car currently is a running restoration. I have fixed oil leaks, master cylinder, a shock absorber, and I repainted the engine bay. I am currently working on some minow body work.

For sale: Bermuda Hard top for MGB and assorted V8 parts. 

It is painted green but comes with on unopened time of cream cellulose paint to repaint it; some 
thinners included. Apart from the associated fittings, the top incorporates a roof aerial and digital add on interface to an in-car tuner.
Also: Assorted V8 carb and ignition parts, suspension and brake parts.
Garage space is required  so will accept a package offer for the lot.

FOR SALE: MGB GT 1974

Has a folder full receipts and old MOTs etc. Just had electronic ignition fitted and a new starter motor - she also has a new MGOC cover. The car is parked in Greenlaw TD10 6XJ .

FOR SALE: MGB Roadster 1974

Owned since  1981 . The MGB was run daily until 1991 when it was taken off the road as the clutch had begun to slip . It was turned over for a few years subsequently but for many years since the engine has not been turned over. The car has been stored in a dry garage integral to our house and on axle stands .

Bodywork 

The Car had been resprayed at some stage but will need repainting.
The front steel offside wing was replaced at some stage by a fibreglass wing.
Nearside front wing is original and in reasonably condition with some evidence of rust.
Rear wings are sound,but there is a little rust around part of the wheel arch and the lower rear wing close to the chrome bumper. The outer sills were replaced. The remaining bodywork is sound.

Suspension 
The rear lever type shock absorbers have been replaced with the standard telescopic units . 
The front suspension is original - ( there are new coil spring units as part of a box of spares )
Other components 

A rollover bar is fitted. Soft top was replaced and is in good condition 
Petrol tank was replaced with a new steel Unit.vExhaust unit was partially replaced by a stainless steel box

The car comes with a box of assorted spares including the original steering wheel 

The removable hard top has been little used and will be priced separately

FOR SALE: MG Midget 1500 (1979)

The car has low mileage having done just over 18k miles, which can be verified with MOT certificates dating back to 1996.

The car was recommissioned by Stephen Taylor Classics in Torrance at significant cost in June 23.  The car starts and runs well and the body work is generally sound.  There is some bubbling to the pillars on either side and it could do with being repainted.

The car is in good enough condition to be enjoyed as it is with scope to improve it. Details of the recommission work can be provided on request.

FOR SALE:  Midget 1500 unfinished project.

It was taken off the road a few years ago to deal with rust and so now has the following new
panels:
- Both rear wings,
- inner & outer sills on LHS,
- outer sill on RHS
- Spring hangers
- Floor panels
- Rear panel
All of the major welding has been done so we believe it to be solid now.
While doing this it has now been fully de-bumpered. Plan was no bumper up front & chrome
corner bumpers at the rear.
The car was originally red but is currently a mixture of reds and primer!
The engine starts & runs fine but the clutch hydraulics are dead. Master cylinder has since
been refurbished but it needs a new slave. Brakes feel fine.
Although it was part stripped for the work everything is present to do the rebuild.
