Our Aims

What are the aims of the club?

Our single central aim is to have more fun, with and without our MG's.
Different members obviously have different ideas about how we should do this, which gives us a very varied programme of events throughout the year. We try to be as informal as possible, as the Club can only be run successfully with the goodwill of the members - no matter how much effort is put in by the Area Secretaries and the committee, if our general membership do not respond the Club cannot be successful.

What do I get out of the club?

The committee organise events and visits to other organisations' events including

Scenic & convoy drives near & far
Treasure hunts
Autotests
Visits to classic car shows
Social events of all descriptions

We also provide help and advice in running and maintaining your MG, in the manner of an informal self-help group; and of course we have an abundance of enthusiasm for simply enjoying our MG's. And if there is anything which we don't do that they'd like us to, we encourage our members to tell us!

What does the club ask of me?

In point of fact, the Club demands very little of its members! The Club is what you want to make it. Of course, the members and committee will speak to you and try to include you in various groups, or interest you in the many events being organised, but a lot rests with you and your own interests and inclinations as to whether you join in or not. Certainly no-one will be offended, or think any the worse of you if you don't wish to take part in any particular events. all we ask is that you consider coming along to support our meetings and events as the mood takes you, and advise us of any activities in which you would like to take part.
